Any amazing stories..?
Just figured I'd share an amazing story of a female ball python of mine that I got a few months ago, like back in March when it was still REALLY cold. Any of you ever got screwed or nearly have on any auction sites? Well I got her from ReptileAuction.com. I really thought the guy that I got her from was a very nice, trustworthy and understanding person, but nope, I was wrong.
So anyway, here it is, it's copy-pasted from my Xanga journal site.

Lovely snow day today, so that's nice. I'm VERY glad I was home, too... because...
I recieved my new female ball python today and I'm just so glad that I was home to get her. Allen Belcher seemed like a reasonable fellow, but #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^& I was wrong. I had also read someone else's post about their terrible experience with him as well. Unfortunately, I had read that whole thing too late because she was already bought and on her way here. I just recieved her from him about two hours ago. Yes, the box was insulated with styrofoam and styrofoam peanuts, but there was hardly enough peanuts, and there was only ONE small heat pack in there, about 2"x3" inches, and the box was way too big for that little heat pack to keep it warm in there--the box was about 15"x18"x10". She was all bundled up in a pillow case and there was no extra newspaper wadded up in there to help insulate and keep her still, so she was plenty loose to flop around in the box. And FedEx is a heck of a lot slower to deliver next day than UPS, but that's not the main problem. GOOD sellers who really care about their animals check the weather of their customers to determine how many heat/cold packs they need to put in the box, and it was in the bloody 20's all of yesterday through today, and it was going to be like that all the rest of the week. As soon as I opened the box and lifted up the styrofoam lid, I put my hand in there to feel any heat only to find it COLDER THAN #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^&! The heat pack wasn't warm at all! I swear to god at that moment I stopped breathing. I immediately untied the pillow case, and I could feel just how cold she was through the fabric. She was as cold as ice, LITERALLY. Light fog was coming off of her into the warm air, she was THAT COLD. She was limp and a little stiff and very still, but not really stiff as if she was dead with rigor mortis, so I knew that she still had to of had some life left in her.. I remembered to wait and let her warm up gradually to see if she was still alive and to not put her under direct heat. So I waited... I was getting extremely, VERY upset at that point but I kept her close to me against my warmth in hopes that I'd see some spark left in her. I felt that my body warmth was warm enough to help her more, but not so direct and intense that it could put her into shock. My stupid internet was down at the time, because I was going to get his phone number call him and get on his butt about this. So I went and sat in my living room with her nestled in my lap, and at one point I thought I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. It wasn't until about 20 minutes later that I saw her tongue flicker, and at that moment tears started filling my eyes, I was so happy that she was still alive, but the scare still wasn't completely over yet because she was still at a critical point. Thank god she was still alive, and as of this moment she was worth the near $200 that I spent on her, because it was worth rescuing her from him, despite that she almost died getting here. Now she's warmed up nicely enough where she's moving about her enclosure, curious as anything, and she's very loving to hold. And this is two hours later. It amazes me. Any longer in that box in the cold and she would have died. I'm not going to bother calling him and cussing him out as it probably won't do a thing, so all I did was just give him some really good negative feedback and warned other bidders on ReptiBid.com. That idiot. Never again.
-----------------------------------
As of today she(Monifa, egyptian for "Lucky") never developed any serious health problems at all because of that. It still amazes me, and I love her SOO much even though she hisses at me sometimes, lol. She's a little over 3 feet in length. I never called the guy and as far as I know I haven't seen his name around on ReptileAuction.com, but now I don't remember what his name was on there.. it'll come to mind later. Before I got her, I also got two other female balls on that site from two other different people, and they were properly packaged and still plenty warm when I got them, and the temp outside was well in the high 20s to low 30s. So I know it was the guy's ignorance in packaging her.
Here's some pics of her.... the one of her laying on the white cloth is where she was still "thawing" out. It was a MESH pillow case that she came in. The other pic of her was taken a week later.
