I went to both my children's schools today for snake presentations and they went beautifully. Olivia is graduating next week from her school and won't be attending next year but they asked if I could return anyway which shows they really must have enjoyed everything.
Took BW's advice and asked the "who's afraid of snakes" question before and after......
Out of 6 children and two adults that were scared of snakes----I only left one woman and one little girl still unwilling to touch the snake and still basically nonsnake people....but even they didn't seem terrified.
With some imput from Eddie I was able to display my battle wounds proudly (I got tagged pretty bad by a tegu yesterday and had some bandages on my hands) and made it a learning experience like he suggested (thanks eddie).
Buddy, the hogg island boa was not very happy about the whole tote experience----he came out of the carrier hissing with his mouth open like a darn mamba or something....LOL.....he was only really happy around my neck so that's were he stayed on the ride home. He does not like the whole dark carrier transport thing at all

Each child was allowed to use the snake hooks and each one hooked a stuffed snake with one of the hooks I got from Brett.
I passed arounf hemos, tongs, pinky press and a snake tube.
I have alot of photos and will post them when I have time.
Tomorrow we are going to great adventure---so we leave at 7 am and return most lkely at like 12am. So I will most likely be offline until the next day.
later!
