I started out because my roommate brought home a baby BP and needed help, then a good meaning friend gave me 2 baby iguanas and I started doing rescue of snakes. That went on for a few years. Got together with my current boyfriend and he hated Wasabi, my iguana (my ex has the other iggy I was given), so I had to find a new home for Wasabi (luckily I did! took about 4 months tho!). He doesn't want me to keep lizards or torts.
Right about this same time I switched from doing rescue to trying to build a nice collection for breeding. I currently have 15 snakes:
1.0 '98 proven
het albino "Bud"
0.1 '98 proven albino "Kelly aka. Lemondrop"
1.1 '03 albinos from pair above "unnamed"
0.1 '03 50% poss
het albino from Autumn and Bud "unnamed"
0.1 '89 proven normal "Autumn"
0.1 '98 high pink normal "Zahara" will be bred for 2006
0.1 '01 salmon "Cinnamon"
0.1 '01 lateral striped normal "Vegas"
1.0 '01
Hog Isle from Gus at RioBravo "Egg"
0.1 '01 Amazon Tree Boa from JuluisSqeezer "Eponine"
1.0 '98 Brazillian Rainbow Boa "Irontail" (currently for sale)
1.1 '00 and '01 pair of cremecicle cor snakes "50/50" and "Opal" (currently for sale)
0.1 '01
corn snake het snow motley "Garnet"
Geez, I think that is it... as you can see I am lacking in the male department!
This year I plan to get an
anery boa (male or female I don't care, I just want a killer
anery!) and over the next year I will add: male red
ATB, female
hog isle, male snow motley
corn snake and possibly either a salmon
het albino male or a salmon harliquin male.
I keep all my snakes in a "snake room". I do have a 50 gallon fish tank in there to try to help with humidity, this is Las Vegas after all, today the high will be 105. *sheesh*
