Went 10 out of 11 today
Its been slow going with my little youngins trying to get them to eat. But today had a good outing. 9 of 11 have their meals down. One just cant seem to grasp he can't eat the mouse sideways and doesn't want to let go to take it head first (think he's gonna be riding the short bus for a while) The last one seems to think the mice are nice warm fuzzy pillows i put in there cuz all he does is lay his head on them.lol he's fairly big and healthy acting so i have faith he'll be ok.
My buddy Rich is having much better success with his babies from our breeder loan. His were born a day after mine on 4/26 and he has them eating JUMBO MICE f/t of course. Mine get a big bulge from crawler mice. I'm picking up my half of the babies this weekend I can't imagine the size difference theres going to be.

Try offering a rat pink or scenting the crawler mouse with rat for that last guy. I know I've always had better success with rats for those stubborn neos. Sounds like all is well though! Glad everything is good.

Yep I know ALLLL about getting feeders. As good as rodent pro is i don't use them. I get the feed allot cheaper here. We have a local swap and they have real good quality frozen rodents there and i dont have to pay shipping. I'm not too worried about the one that sleeping on his meal. he's in good shape and if he doesnt eat today Im fairly confident he will eat in the next attempt.
Rats will be my next purchase for them. I just had a bunch of drawlers sitting here . Only one thats still able to eat them is my hognose, and even he needs bigger prey.

(giggle) sounds like my girl when I first got her. For the longest time she thought that Rats were meant to be eaten hind-end-first!! She just stopped doing it when I started feeding her jumbo rats. guess she figured the rear end was just too big.
It sure was amazing to watch her do it though!

bally pythons are worse when it comes to eatting the wrong end first but it's funnier when they go side ways.. because they will try and try and try til they finally realize that it's not gonna quite work that way.. lol

shoot, my kingsnake had his first rat pup the other day. He had been hitting the mice fuzzies like they were chips so I bumped him up. I wondered if it was to big for him and then the idiot went smelly end first. Took him a good hour (at least it seemed like it) but he is determined, if directionally challenged, and got it down.

kingsnakes dont care about which end they eat first...once it's in their mouth they get pretty determined... our small cali king had a hopper by the neck once time and she actually got the point to where the hopper was folding in half and going down the hatch..now as small as their mouths look it surprising to how much they will stretch out..lol
