Awsome fish. They catch ones like that at lake Lavon up by McKinny Texas. I have seen guys come in with cats that big in their John boats and it looked like the boat was about to sink with all the weight.

I think that explains a lot of Loch Ness sightings.

LMAO!!!!
That is the biggest fish I've ever seen (other than sharks).
The last time I remember seeing a cat that big was watching a Discovery Channel program. They were in Thailand I believe and the cats in a particular river get HUGE. And they actually catch those by hand!!!

They catch ones like that by hand too in some places in the south. It is called "noodling". When small creeks dry up in the winter you put big plywood boxes in strategic locations and then wait till spring for the creeks to flood again. Then the big cats come up into the smaller creeks to spawn and use the boxes for hides. Then you go out and wade up to where the box is located and feel around until you can get your hand into their mouth and grab hold of the gill plate. The cat will clamp down on your arm and it is just a pulling match from there on out. Some people just wade alon banks where there are lots of overhanging trees and feel up into the caves and overhanging bank for big cats too.
This type of fishing is not for me though. I prefer the fish in the water and me on land or in a boat. Or at least them on the end of my line if I am wade fishing for something like seatrout. Sticking my arm into somethings mouth so that it can bite me just seems a little stupid, but to each his own I guess.
