Puter Help, Please

I'm sort of back having been off-line for about 3 weeks or so. My power supply fried so replaced it and my cpu fan. Lost one hard drive but had another. Anyway - after much frustration I now have my puter up and running again. But, now when viewing here at the posts - the messages are all the way down at the bottom of the 'window' below the ads that run on the left side. Normally the threads/posts were to the right of the ads, instead now there is this huge blank space to the right of the ads. Is there a setting I need to adjust somewhere? *sigh*

when i look at work its like that....i think it just has to do with screen resolution. then again i may be wrong, i just always thought it was that.

screen res or early version of internet explorer?

dl firefox and see how that views the page. www.firefox.com.

it's a far better browser anyway.

Thanks for the input and advice. It's not the resolution - most likely the older version of my IE browser. *sigh* Attempted the update download - but with 15 min to go (after waiting over an hour cuz of the phone line connection) it froze. I'm at work this morning and the boss is out of town for a bit . . . and since I've heard about Firefox here with good opinions before . . . I downloaded it and burned it to a cd to take home and install.

My OS is as current as possible after spending 4 hours downloading and installing security updates, etc. One of these days I will get something better then a landline for a connection.
