Im looking for a reputable site that has info on deaths caused by constrictors

Ive checked the CDC and cant seem to find much. But I did find some interesting statistics on deaths to humans from dogs...In 1974 to 94 there were 279 deaths from dog maulings..
Why is everyone, even on some of the reptile boards spouting that Boa constrictors can kill you...I did find some second hand info saying there were 4 deaths from constrictors(1 burmese and 3 Retics) between 78 and 88 but it was not a reputable source that I could quote.
Either Im not looking in the right place or Im not using the proper wording in my google searches.
Thanks

PLEASE find a reputable site that confirms the validity of this picture. This is the third time this series of pictures has popped up on this site. Without a URL, CRG can't possibly make an informed decision about whether or not this is true. Urban legends and photoshop hoaxes are all over the internet. Don't contribute to it by posting pictures without the proper documentation.

I have seen storys told on t.v. (Animal Planet, Discovery...some animal network) that told of it happening. They even talked to the families of the victims. It would have to be a large snake though.

as far as i know, that is the case. i don't know that there is a recorded account of a boa constrictor killing anyone anywhere. though it probably happened at some point.

snakes don't eat people, cannibals eat people.

i remember reading something as well, but can't remember where that told of 3 stories of a person being killed by a snake. One a 14 year old was left home alone in a house which had a burmese python that was able to roam free. while he was sleeping the burm took a hold of his leg and wrapped up the kid killing him. the second was another 14 or 15 year old kid that decided to feed their burm while the parents were away, he dangled a rabbit in front of the snake only to get bit on the arm and killed. the third i read about was a man in brooklyn who took his burmese python to a local market to buy a chicken, brought both back to his apartment, left the snake in the hall and put the chicken inside. when we went to pick up the snake, smelling like chicken, it attacked his hands and constricted him in the hallway.

like i said i wish i could post where exactly i read those, maybe i'll look around again for them.

I keep coming across those two same stories. The one kid in Colorado who was killed by the Burmese and some 43yo man in MO who was killed by a retic..I did get on the Melissa Kaplan site earlier as well.
If stories are told on tv about people being killed by constrictors I sure cant find any other valid stories on the internet....Where are all these stories?

I also came across a story of some constrictor eating a neighbors little dog.But that is nothing compared to the amount of dogs attacking and killing other dogs for no good reason except to kill them...Its funny but why are people so afraid of/hate snakes when dogs bite 4.7 million people a year.I realize it has something to do with the ratio of pet dogs versus snakes but still
its something to think about...

Okay I just had a look at the site that RMK has about man eating snakes. It looks somewhat official but where did he find these stories about all these so called deaths? I might just have to email him and find out..
