Peta Kids
I get newsletters from PETA, HSUS, and API to keep tabs on what they are up to. Know thy enemy. Here is an example of the propaganda aimed at children that came in my email today.

A few highlights:
Quote:

All you have to do is write a letter to mom, dad, grandma—whoever feeds ya—telling them what you like best about fish and why you would never eat your fishy friends.

Several lucky winners will receive free copies of Shark Tale on DVD and PETA Kids T-shirts with our “Fish Are Friends, Not Food!” logo and may have their entries posted on PETAKids.com. And everyone who enters gets free stickers!

So your new mission is to write a letter to the editor of your local paper, asking the community not to wear fur and to help with the PETAKids Wet Seal Campaign. It’s your chance to play teacher for a change, so tell your community what’s wrong with fur—but please don’t mention that it’s a mission, because they might not print your letter!

Are there animals being held hostage at your school, commonly known as “classroom pets” or “hatching experiments”? Do your teachers plan yearly field trips to the zoo or the circus? It’s your school, too, and that means that your voice counts, so speak up and let your teachers know that there are alternatives to animal exploitation. And don’t forget to recruit your classmates to help you tackle these issues!

Zoos claim to be “educational,” but come on! The only thing that you can learn about animals by going to the zoo is what happens to them when they are taken from their families and homes in the wild, held hostage, and deprived of what comes naturally to them … they go crazy!
|

If zoos really cared about animals, they would rescue and care for exotic animals who cannot be released into the wild, but they would never sell or breed them.

Eating animals and animal products contributes to health problems, including cancer, heart disease, strokes, diabetes, and obesity—just to name a few.

As our "Milk Suckers" trading cards explain, drinking milk can cause an array of unpleasant side effects, as well as more serious health problems, including heart disease and cancer. To learn more, click on the links below. Once you know how gross milk really is, we bet you’ll be ready to trade it in—for delicious and nutritious soy!

Oh yay, lets stop eating everything buy fruit that has already fallen off the tree, or nuts and berries. Don't want to hurt the plants by picking either. 5Funny thing is that the people who are drinking soy milk and eating only nuts, berries and sea weed are usually the most unhealty looking people you will ever run into. A good friend of mine who hunts and fishes and doesn't buy any processed meat except very rarely has a wife, 2 daughters and a grand daughter who are all vegetarians. Funny thing is that they are all 4 BIG as houses. They do all the yoga and meditating and never eat meat or meat products such as eggs or cheese, but they sure love their whole grain bread!
Some his wifes microbiotic friends (who were also PETA supporters) had to leave on night because they were sick. I tseems that they got that way because Tommy and I were out back butchering deer and they saw us and just the sight of all that meat made them sick for a week. Those men and women could hardly lift their heads to say hello they were so seek when ever I saw them. What they really needed was a good steak!
Ok, I have ranted enough. Those PETA people make me sick with their drivil. ALthough I did agree with the elephant being moved to a sanctuary where it could live outside with other elephants, but elephants are very special to me so I may be biased on that one.

OOPS, I missed the editing window. Here is a finny story about my friends grand daughter to show just how easily kids be taught to be against killing anything to eat.
I had gone on a striper fishing trip with a guide friend of mine to Smith mountain lake in Va. Before I left I had stopped by my buddy's house and he asked me to bring him some stripers if I caught enough. His grand daughter was there too and sh said that she wanted me to bring her some too. I said fine and left for my trip. Well the trip went well and I had 5-6 nice stripers that I was going to give my buddy. SO I stipped by to drop them off. Well he wasn't home at the time, but his grand daughter was and she said that she wanted to see the fishies. I said ok and opened the cooler for her. Well she took one look and exclaimed in horror " Oooooo, you killed them!". Well I couldn't help laughing at that, and the next thing I knew she was screaming at me to get those dead things away from her. My buddy's wife came out to see what the commotion was all about and took their grand daughter back inside while trying not to wet her pants laughing. But ever after that, that little girl didn't like me much because I had killed those fish. Never too young to be brain washed.
And I am not a "Hater", I find them all amusing actually.

i love peta they even effect me in the work place. i guess some where in cali somebody broke into the infirmary at petco and to a bunch of pics of the "horrible" conditions (hamsters with wet-tail basically) and slammed them all over the media. so now all the doors are locked and the only people who have keys are managers. now, when its saturday after noon and nine people want crickets right after another and i have to run and find a manager everytime you think that irks me a little bit. ya just a little turns a two minute task into a twenty minute one.
