Well I have this thingamajig you plug a lamp into so when someone rings the doorbell, the light flashes. I have another one of those thingamajigs for the phone too. I don't have a lamp plugged into it because either nobody ever calls or I'm always online. My alarm clock has a lamp and a vibrator thing plugged into it also.

Well , i assumed it was probably something visual. You would just figure that their would be a different name for it, seeing that doorbell indicates sound I suppose its just one of those universally accepted terms. Doorflash, instead of doorbell perhaps?
