Handling
About a week ago there was a post talking about what is considered enough handling for your snake. i own a BCI approximatly a year and half old, and handle it atleast every other day except around feeding time i just let him be for the day of and a couple days after. I dont feel that i am neglecting him, or not handling him enough to make him aggressive, but i was wondering about everyones input and how often they feel they should be handled.
thanks,
Nolan

common sense would tell you to handle them enough so there not aggresive in my opinion the snake could problay care less wether you hold them. so the obvious reason to hold them besides for your own kicks would be to keep them tame. also if you feed in a seprate feeder tank like you should u would be picking them up at least a couple times a month witch would also keep them tame

I think that they should be handled whenever you want to handle them(except after feeding, during shedding, and if having health problems) I don't think there is a certain number of days of the week you need to handle them. I expect that the snakes would be just fine if left alone as long as all the husbandry issues were properly cared for. If you are handling them to get them used to being handled, then different snakes have different attitudes. I've got a boa that could go months w/out being handled and would be fine if I just went and grabed her out of the cage. On the other hand Ive got one who will snap at you every time you reach in to grab him.

Alright thanks CC, ya mine is very docile, i dont get to handle him as much as i used to now being in college, and being busy plus a couple roomates dont think to highly of snakes so i tend to only keep him in my room. This question was also for my curiosity the people here who own 10+ snakes and find time to enjoy them all. For now it is best for me to have one, but in the future i wouldnt mind getting a few more. They are very addicting.
