My trip to PetCo

So I went to PetCo today in the middle of Christmas shopping to see what they actually carry in the store since I live in a small town and hadn't been in one of these. I thought it was cool that they sold snakes at all until I actually got to look at them for a second. BP's had their spines sticking way out and babies cost 80 dollars. I was just wondering if all PetCo's always just sell crap for large sums of money.

Secondly, a guy was there buying one of these BP's at the time, and you could tell he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. It was interesting to hear him say if you could see 2 white dots near the spurs that it was a male. Does anyone here have a clue as to what he was referencing or if it held any truth at all. I don't believe this to be a true way of sexing from anything I've read but I am still relatively new to all of this so I thought I would run it by some of you more experienced keepers. Thanks a lot guys.

Yes, all petcos are like that. At least the all the ones Ive seen and heard of. No, you can't tell the sex just by looking. You have to probe them to tell if their male/female

well the petco i deal with must be an exception all the animals are kept clean and the peeps there seem to care.
the 1 time i saw a prob i spoke to the manager he thanked me and took care of the matter.
