Anyone else sick for the holidays?
This stinks so bad. I always manage to get sick right around this time of year. I wanted to ask if anyone knows or has had what I have this time, cause it's really weird and i think i remember hearing about it, but i don't remember what it is exactly. It's like a whole body cold or something. My hip joints are constantly sore and stiff (I'm only 18, and I've been having to walk like an elderly person when it gets bad), all, and i mean ALL my muscles hurt. Everything from my feet and toes cramping to my hands cramping and my forearms hurting. My mucles and my joints have been doing that for a few days, then yesterday I started having symptoms of a sinus infection- feeling like a headache was settling in my face and then some blood in my nose. And i have a sore spot in my throat, like when it gets a knot in it cause you don't wanna cry. Slight nasuea-sp and dizziness. It's like... a lil' bit of EVERYTHING, a full body crisis or something. Some of it might have to do with my job, being a waitress can be strenuous but still, I'm used to constantly being on my feet and never has my body acted like this before.

Sorry to hear your sick......I'd ask a doctor and get some treatment. It sounds horrid not to mention being sick at all this time of year.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear you are sick especially this time of year. I also recommend the Doc visit. I think you may have a couple of issues at the same time. Some guesses might be.....
1. blood up the nose... from being too dry, lay off the nose sprays except for saline spray. they destroy the membranes in the nose!
2. the flu 3.the Doctors #1 question..."are you pregnant?" they love that one!
4. get on and stay on a "good" multiple vitamin.
%. Walmart over in DeLand had "Echinacea", it's cheap and will boost your immunity system to fight whatever is nailing you. the longer you are sick, the harder you immunity system is hit. ps, I have over 39 years in emergency medicine, go see your doc!

I am really stubborn about running to a doc's office. My dad has had countless pointless experiences with them throughout his life, some recent. i understand how usefull and helpful they are, and a lot of them are probably as honest and kind as one I recently found (unfortunately he specalized and is not a general doctor) but, I still hold off. I usually don't stay sick for more than 3 days- first day feeling crappy, next horrible, and then crappy agian before it just goes away. Any more than the usual and I consider a doctor. Here's a "waitress story": the last time I was sick it felt like pluracy-sp, that real bad pain in your chest. On the second day I decided to be a good employee, take some dayquill, and stick out my shift. I figured it wouldn't be too big of a problem to have me inside the restaurant. No, I was sectioned on our deck, and the whole afternoon and night while running in and out of heat/air conditioning I griped that i didn't need to be doing that, at one point from walking the distance of the deck in the humidity I was panting cause it hurt too bad to breathe normal. At the end of the night, once my medicine wore off completely and the full effect of what I had done to myself hit me, I was cashing out and another waitress told me I looked green. The manager looks at me and asks, "Are you sick or something?" To which I reply, "No Dave, I've been griping about every OTHER thing since I got here and seen that my section was outside." He just shrugs and says, "Well, everyone gripes." Needless to say that time it took me four days to get better cause the next day thanks to them I felt more horrible than on my "horrible" day. This cold was just wierd cause it went through a variety of symptoms. The body ache-stomach sickness disappeared and now I'm left with with the sinus infection feeling. It should be going away by tomarrow. Good luck staying healthy through the holidays you guys!

Glad you're a bit better cretia
If you're like me, you always feel better after you've told someone the full gorey details about it. If you say nothing, then whatever it is seems to last a lot longer!

Just tell everyone not to buy you anything. or not to spend too much money cause you don't have that much to spend on them. I've been in that situation. They'll understand... and then you won't have to stress and bust your pockets over Christmas. It should be enjoyed.
