Should I bother with xmas tree?
I never got around to decorating for Christmas last year, and I can't decide if I should do it this year. I work full time, and my son is either at school or at the babysitters until at least 4 or 5 durring the week. We're only home evenings and weekends, and even then we're not always home much. He may go to my parents' house over Christmas break, depending on how busy their store is and if mom can stay home with him. So, do I bother decorating when we're not around much to enjoy it? I'm sure we'll be at my parents' over Christmas weekend, so we won't even be opening presents here. I kinda think I want to, but it's so much work just to take it down again in a few weeks. What do you guys think? Decorate, or no?

I think you should ask your son first, how old is he? If it is ok with him that you don't decorate and you don't really have the time to do it, then don't stress over it. The holidays are meant to be enjoyed anyway. Why waste time stressing.
And if you do decide that you still want to decorate, you can, but maybe not as much. We decided that since we will not be home over the holidays and won't have many guest, that we wouldn't do much inside. But, we did more then usual outside. That way we can enjoy it and so can others. Hope this helps some.

I would go for it... even if you don't do it on a grand scale. over the years I tried to always have certain things she could count on- the christmas tree was one of those things (sometimes they were table top, other times it took 3 people to carry the darn thing in the house) she is almost 22 now I think she appeciated it! that my 2 cents- I hope it helped

Way too cold to start decorating outside, but maybe I will put up a couple things. Just have to decide what.

i would invest in a mini tree not as much as a hassle as a big one, but that way you still get to decorate.

Hi,
I too would ask the child but also realize that children pick up on what we want too so that might not be the real answer either.
I've found that much of the Christmas Spirit comes to me while I decorate the tree with family and one child constitutes a family...... so
If it was me.....even a tiny tree and popping some corn and stringing it would be done along with lots of smiles and stories of love both past and present and of course the story of why we even celebrate Christmas......
Happy Holidays to All!

we have had a mini tree for a few years (artificial) I always leave it decorated (store it with a plastic bag over it)- all you have to do is plug it in! usually it's the first thing I bring out- many times it has restored the "christmas spirit" then we go out & buy the real tree! One year we gave the tree to a friend of ours who needed the "spirit" in July (he's a music producer) apparently it did the trick! and a lot of weird looks at the office!

i would prolly not worry about the tree all to much. i didnt celebrate christmas either...just enjoyed the day off as i will most likely this year too. but i did a tree because i kinda missed it.
but as far as decorations...just to the basics. lights in the windows and the goofy snowman in the yard...lol if ur going to be at mom's then i wouldnt stress too much.
next year thou get a toilet brush tree.. they're less messy and easier IMO.
