New baby Burm!!
WOOOHOOOO!! We have a new baby albino burm coming on Friday morning!!! Very excited. We're all set up with enclosure and hides, and temps, and humidity, etc. etc. We were working on an adoption but unfortunately that fell through, the adopter decided to adopt out locally instead But that's fine and probably better and easier for a larger snake. Anyway, I was excited so I thought I'd share my news. I'll be sure to post pics asap. Also if anyone has any helpful tidbits of info for first time Burmese keepers please share, all advise is welcome and appreciated. Blessings to all.

Congrats...we've had our 3month old baby burm for a month now....I've never seen a snake with such an appetite. I was told babies are kinda sketchy about people coming in their enclosures and this i found to be true as ours was very interested in anything near or in her cage at first. She's pretty much over that now and doesn't mind when we go in to get her. So just give your new baby a nice settling down period before the handling process starts.

Our new baby
Here's a couple of snapshots I got right when he arrived. And now onto the name, lol. As soon as we get him all settled I'll take some better pics. He was very sweet when we got him out of his box but started hissing a bit when I placed him in his enclosure, awwwww. Right now he's about 3 feet long and will be eating small mice, which I don't have any of, lol. Rodentpro here we come. Blessings.

Yes I meant RATS, sorry. He's eating weanling rats right now. As far as names, I have to go with Horus or my favorite literary character of all time, Lestat. I know, I know, kinda corny. What can I say, lol.

Okay, my husband and I were arguing about the name, he wanted to go with Roland (i.e. Steven Kings Gunslinger) so we left it up to our kiddos to name him. And the winner is Zeus, my oldest son is really into the Greek mythology right now. Zeus was a bit grumpy today, hissing and whatnot. I had to take him out of his enclosure for a few minutes and he was fine while I was holding him but after I put him back in he decided to have a go at me. I guess I can say I've been truely initiated into the world of snake keeping, lol. This aggression should settle down after a few days and with a lot of handling I hope. Blessings all.
