Great ta here he handled the bite like a pro after settling down! Some kids won't have anything ta do with snakes after a bite.

I didn't realize how hissy and pissy Argie's can be until I got mine. He still hasn't landed a bite on me yet and even if he does he's so small I don't think I'd be able to join the bleeder's club just yet. I'm gonna start my own club.....the WE'RE CAREFUL AND DON'T GET TAGGED CLUB!!!!
I'd be bawling too at the age of 5 if I got bit. Just because it would happen so fast. How big is the Argie?

Well. I don't really know what to say. I'm glad your son is ok. glad he's a tough little guy. Just hope he doesn't start having nightmares about it. Now I dont mean this in a bad way just my oppinion but, I know I would never leave my kids alone with my snakes when they are free. My boys are 6-7, and they love snakes. But they were taught respect with dangeous animals. I've kept Sharks(yes the salt water kind), Lionfish, and now larger boids. I had the dangeous fish when my kids were 3-4 at the perfect age when they like to go try to pet the fish. But I educated them the cause and effect of petting the fish I had. They knew that a shark can and will bite them, and a lionfish will sting you, and could severely hurt them. and it never happened. I do the same with my snakes. They are NEVER to open the cages without my supervision, and they understand why. They are not afraid of my snakes but they do know to respect them.
I guess I'm kinda worried about a scenario like this because if when he goes to school and the teacher sees this odd bite on his hand or arm, and the child proudley tells her I got bit by a boa in my house, you may be having some authority figures coming to your door. Then having it in the newspapers and giving snakes another kick in the teeth.
That my oppion, Like I said I'm glad he is ok and still likes the snake. Thats a very good sign. Sorry for being long winded and oppinionated.
