My response to that is to find an alternate food source. Depending primarily of course, on what it is your feeding.

Anything that'll eat crickets usually wont turn down roach nymphs. In fact, most seem to prefer them. Roaches...hmmmm

Nymphs are newly hatched/born roaches. I'm fairly sure that someone in the UK must breed them.

Inverts in the UK.
OK Motorherp-grindgirl. They aren't selling any roaches as feeders at this sight. However, if you decided to you could purchase a coupl of opposites (sexes) and breed em'. Good luck. They lloked to be about five pounds each, which seems incredibly expensive to me but like ya' said perhaps there's a void in the market.

yuck, I have never had that problem, except when the cat let the out. I keep them in a glass aquarium though. I hate crickets. My hubby laughs at me, I handle huge snakes (says he), love my tarantulas, used to raise/bred/castrate/sheep and goats, etc. But a cricket can make me jump. He says i act just like a girl around the crickets. Darn him, I am a girl! What does he expect?! Nasty little things (husbands and crickets, I mean)

I would find any way to house the crickets. There is various ways and I am sure they couldn't chew through wood or wire. Anyhow, I can't stand roaches, so there is no way I would even consider getting them. Well, that is just me.

Well personally i'd prefer an animal that breeds prolifically, eats just about all my leftovers, and doesn't chirp incessantly from dusk till dawn.

O keep my supply in plastic tote and have never run into such a problem. About the only time they get out on the loose is when one of the kids forgets to put the cover back when dishing them out to all who feed upon them.
I'm with you reticu-lady.. If it wasn't for my kids who are willing to handle them. ..I wouldn't have any bug eaters in my collection here. I also have np handling a HUGE burm or BOA but when it comes to creepy /crawlies like bugs..forget it lmao

I hate the crickets too, well any insect come to think of it even butterflies
The crickets stay in the plastic box they come in, to feed I lift the lid slightly an poke their food through the gap To get them out I lift the lid slightly an shake them into a plastice bag, chuck some vitamin powder in shake em then drop them in the viv. No handling necessary Think the roaches may violate my tenancy agreement, lol

ok dunno if this is any help too you but when i picked up a batch of crickets from the pet store i would clip there jumper legs right where i call it the "knee" dunno if thats right or not, but i kept the crickets from jumping around and getting out og the cage. i honestly dont know if it would shorten there life span if you breed them yourself and have a big bunch, its time consuming also. but they wouldnt die before my chameleon would eat them which as far as i know was 2-4 days. but i didnt know they could chew through hard plastic like that, theyve chewed there plastic bags i know that for sure. but when i bred them and stuff i kept them in a 10 gallon tank with a sheet of glass over it, with just a lil crack for air and not big enough for the pinheads too escape, because thoughs sucked can climb anything. ok hope this was some help
