Very exciting suprise!!
hey everyone,
we had a very exciting suprise show up at work the other day. I work for Eugene Bessette (OS, http://www.ophioservices.com) and he has alot of ball pythons growing up to be future breeders. well four of the previously normal balls shed the other day. when they shed they lost all yellow pigmentation!! well it turns out they are desert ghost balls! what is so weird is all four were right next to each other on the rack. and man do these guys look hot! i've never much been a fan of ball pythons but seeing those guys go from normal coloration to gray and white is just amazing. i might post some pics in the next couple days, if i can remember.

Eugene is a great guy. Congrats to OS! I really enjoyed meeting him a few years ago when I had the pleasure of touring the facility there. He and his wife were very accomodating. I just can not say enough good about these two.

well an unfortunate turn of events... the "desert ghosts" turn out not to be desert ghosts just sick balls. some are going through color changes, a few are very lethargic, and some seem to be losing some weight and all their scales are looking really bad. so it could be they have some weird disease. we had another baby snake a while back that showed the same symptoms. this situation really sucks.
