Still currently 140mph winds category 4 hurricane, it is on top of florida as I type, My heart goes out to any affected by this storm (My grand-parents are to the right of the eye). We are not being hit too bad, nobody here has boarded up but we are expecting heavy winds and rain, there have been multiple tornados and flooding all over. Good luck to anyone attending Daytona, I am now not going to go myself. Flights stop landing at 8 at Melbourne, Daytona, Jacksonville, and any in-between at 8pm.

Many of the people in GC who were flying into miami for connecting flights were canceled to their dismay. We got hit a little but nothing like we were expecting. We had to batten don the animals and prepare for the worst though....

I heard that a lot of vendors made it but none of their stuff...one guy from germany had a whole troop of snakes that he was going to show and it all got stuck at ATL international and didnt get any of it until sunday...better late then never..
hopefully next year they'll be better prepared when stuff like this happens and have alternate plans.
and i am so gonna be there next year!

Don't really know what else they could have done or how they could have an alternate plan. That storm moved so fast, built so quickly and changed direction so fast that even the pros were fooled. When we left our house for the drive up (only 4 hours), it was still predicted to make land fall around Tampa/St. Pete. We found out that it had changed direction while we were setting up our table. My brothers and most of my family live in the Port Charlotte area. We still haven't spoken with them but found out they are ok, physically. from a relative in Maryland. My oldest brother's home is gone.
