I was suppose to receive my 2 new Peruvians today from Gus Rentfro, he shipped them this morning via Contenential Airlines from Brownsville TX to Syracuse NY. I called about 1:00 to check the status only to find that this lovely Syracuse Airport has a cargo embargo on Continental and won't accept any freight. I in turn had to get ahold of Gus and have him reroute the shipment to Rochester NY, about a 90 mile drive. Now the snakes have to sit in Newark tonight before going to Rochester tommorow. What a pain in the a$$, not only is Syracuse one of the most expensive airports in the country to fly out of, now they making me wait a day to get my snakes and drive 180 miles to get them.
By the way Gus Rentfro at Riobravoreptiles.com is great. These are only 8 months old and over 3' long already. He said the mother is over 10'. I would reccomend him to anyone looking to buy a locality snake.

Yea I am a wreck. With this weather I might not be able to get them tommorow either. I keep calling the airline every hour and they are still in Houston, TX.

Get this, I call Newark this morning to find out when the snakes are being shipped to Rochester. Continental proceeds to tell me they can't ship to Rochester because the plane isn't pressurized. I was considering driving to Newark (6 hrs) but then changed my mind. After talking with Continental I am getting Airborne Express to pick them up and bring them to Syracuse. What a disaster, I hope they arrive okay. Gus said they should be okay but said he would take care of it if they weren't.

The snakes arrived today finally. I was expecting the worse but they are fine. They were a little sluggish at first, they're tounges were moving real slow, but seem fine now that they warmed up. The weather here has been terrible, down in the 30's at night and maybe 50 during the day. I'm going to make a vet appointment just to be on the safe side.
Now for the snakes, WOW. They are beautiful and big. They were born last September but look like they were born 1 1/2 ago. They are pushing 4' and a very good girth. Going to be very big snakes. The tails are tremendous, a beautiful blood red. They are quite active, especially the male.
Unfortunaely I don't have a digital camera yet. I'm going to get my daughters from her. Its a cheap one but it will at least allow you guys to see these beautiful snakes.
One more thing, Gus Rentfro from Riobravoreptiles.com is excellent. I would reccomend him to anyone and everyone who is looking for top quality snakes.

Relayer,
I am glad they arrived alive after all they had to go through.
And with their warming up, then they have a better chance for little to no ill effects.
