from the pet shops side
today when i went to robs pet shop, he was all upset. he told me a man came infor 4 mice. rob asked what he was feeding them to. the man said 'a small snake.' rob went and got the mice. again he asked 'what kind of snake' the man said a 6 foot RTB. rob told him that is should be geting jumbo rats. rob then showed him his 6 foot redtails. the man said 'mine is way skinnier' rob told him that is because it is starving. the man told him that he gives it 2 small mice then in a week he gives it 2 more. rob said 'i specialize in snakes. please feed it small rats first and get it up to jumbos' rob told him he would give him a small rat if the man would just try. the man said it is my sons snake and he would be mad. so rob gave him his number and asked him to please have his son call him as soon as he gets home. he is one of the few pet shop owners who do really care.
bad part of that is...he now has 8 not for sale stickers on his tanks! he keeps getting attached to everything! its like his own personal zoo.

yup..that tends to happen a lot. i dont know how many times i had to explain that to a customer...its just part of reality.

I could never own a petshop louise, I would probably run out of buisness because the "not for sale" signs would be everywere. I get attached to any critter real quick, Its so hard for me to kill the rats when I buy them live and freeze them. Im such a softy, the fear in there eyes is so obvious =[ ... aww

it really messes with him though. it will bother him for days if the guy dont call. the guy could have taken the free rat at least.

the first few rats i killed my heart started beating real fast and i felt sick. now it doesnt even faze me. i dont know if that is a good or bad thing.
