Terrorist Attack
Hey this is a pretty dumb thread but I decided to give it a go. Incase the release of any biological/chemical weapons into the air, we would be forced to stay in doors and survive off the stored food we have and bottled water. After talking about this with alot of people today I notice people always telling me "oh I got all this bottled water, and extra un-perishable food", and most of them have pets and don't really mention anything about them. Well here comes the question -- Do any of you ever consider buying extra food for your animals(cats, dogs, snakes) incase you were forced to stay inside your home for weeks maybe months? -- Or does the thought of another terrorist attack not worry you? After living with a very worried mother I have plenty of food/water/rodents/ put on the "side" to survive for quite some time. I was just wondering if any of you take these precautions or if im just a fool

Not at all. I have spoke with a couple people about this recently, if we were to lose electricity how would we care for our animals that need heat and UV lamps. Esspecially being in Canada it isn't exaclty warm here. It is always a good plan to have rations put aside, but what about our tropical and desert animals. It would be very hard to deal with.....just something else to think about when getting an exotic animal.

I would really like to hear about what people would do if electricity was lossed and we weren't able to leave our homes. Are there any battery powered ceramic lighting that can be bought? Its really something to think about

..............as far as terrorist attacks and keeping extra food and water.....I think that insane. Just live life at a day at a time. That stuff is not ever likely to happen, and i think funny people plan for it, like the y2k bug. But i always have tons of mice for my snakes. And I have a generator if electricity goes out, like in a snow storm or something realistic.

So is 2 planes crashing into a sky scraper. I don't worry much and I do live my life, but you always gotta be prepared for the worst if something like that happens. I dont mean packing a parachute to your officejob, but atleast have water and something to live on. It would never hurt to be a little bit prepared, then to not be prepared and have a disaster happen.

there was no way to prepare for that. No matter how much we all worried. Anything can happen.
As far as preparing for the worst, a power failure is within the realm of being sensible and should be prepred for no matter what.

Hmmm as far as biological weapons released into the air...I don't really see a scenario where we will be trapped in our houses because of what's in the air...other than smog. Where are most air conditioners? Mine's outside. The air you breath, ultimately, comes from outside. Just staying indoors isn't gonna protect you from weapons grade airborn terrorist attacks. And if we get bombed or stranded in the house for the amount of time it would take my boa to starve, sheesh, my pet snake is, unfortunately, on the bottom of my list of priorities.
