How to catch a snake

Any ideas? Someone decided to play with the little ones (baby balls) and didnt put the lid back on securely when i was out of town this weekend......needless to say one got out.....so i got one baby ball runnin round like she owns the place......any ideas on where to look or how to catch....i figure check warms spots first but so far no luck........

Put a heat pad on low on the floor.
Then put a PK mouse in a 2 liter coke bottle and put on top of the pad and cover with a blankie.

That or just forget about it and it will appear in some odd fashion.

if you got a paypal account, I have $10 says it's within 10' of the cage, hidden in a place you'd never think to check.

Flour on the floor and close all doors can help determine which room it's in, but it's kinda messy.

checked the shoes and places that were dark and cozy near the cage but no sign of her.....think ill try the warm heat pad on teh floor before i go dumpin flour everywhere.......thanks guys

I'm jumping on J's bet. Every time mine pushes the lid open he heads directly for my closet, never fails. funny though, i had a dream my kingsnake got lose and just ran across me. I checked all my snakes and found both ballls gone....i left myself open, but one was next to my nwew argie and the other was on the doorhandle. I opened the door when I went in and never saw him. I went thru the closet and nada. but go to close the door and scared the crap out of me! he's close!!!!!!!!

All i can say is all these tricks and stuff dont work for me.. lol
i always find my snakes when i am not looking for them.. they just show up.. lol
once i was changing the trash can.. i knew my snake was out and i see him moving around in the bag.. i wasnt looking for him then,

another time.. i was changing the paper on my snakes cage and threw the bottum of the cage i see the loose one.. lol

Still lookin but no sign......ive turned this room upside down......i dont think she is here......ive only had her a few weeks so she is jsut getting used to her surroundings and exploring every nook and crany......ill let u know where i find her......any bets on other places? Im gonna take kitchen for $10 (lots of warm stuff in there).

She is more than likely close by. They will find a small dark place they feel secure and stay there. Take that corn snake of Jules that got out here at my house. It went 5 feet and stayed. It had the whole house open to go wherever it wanted.

Sit back and think about a small place you havent looked yet. A place you wouldnt normally think about.

no holes....well that havent been plastered over already.....although i am concerned if she made it all the way down the hall way there is a return air vent on the wall that is 3 inches off the floor, that she may have gotten in there (hope not, lots of moving parts).....there is a lip in the bathroom under the cabinet but best i can tell she's not in there

When my critters get loose I just keep an eye on my cat... when he goes bezerk over some dark corner it tends to be an accurate sign [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

If you have no luck don't be to discouraged. Sometimes the lost ones will turn up at the most unexpected times and places.... especially when you have snake fearing visitors over.

well she finally reared her head adn wouldnt u know it the person most fearful of snakes discovered her. As we were moving my bro back in from college for the summer, mom walks right passed a ball python poking her head out of the return air vent in the hallway.
