How do I discourage wild rattlesnakes?

I have a small farm that has too many wild rattlesnakes. A few are fine, but when the place was not occupied the rattlesnakes took over and there are way too many.

I would like to find a way to encourage some of them to leave - at least decrease their concentration. I don't want to slaughter them but if natural predators like raptors get a few I won't mind.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for a natural balance - not extermination.

Welcome to RTB!

The best way to reduce the numbers of snakes is to remove the reason they are there in the first place.
Snakes love brush and trash piles, old sheets of metal and paneling, and pretty much any tight place that they can hide. They will also come to a place that makes for an easy source of food.
So remove or reduce that kind of environment and you should see a reduction in the number of snakes.

If you can safely catch them or have someone catch them for you I would just relocate them to a unpopulated area away from humans.
I would first do as Stormyva said to do and you may not even have to relocate them. I know there are a few people here that would love to come and get them for you. I bet if you bought BWSmith a airline ticket he would come and take all the rattlesnakes home.

Take care,
Tom
