cotton mouth
this is a classic story for out family. Well it all started back in the day (be for i was born) and my mom was 7 years old. It has been a tradition for our family to go boating on dale hollw lake in ky\tn. Well my mom, grandma and grandpa and other extended family went to the cliffs. my grandpa daring in his day went to the top one. there being an agressive cotton mouth around 5 feet presistantly striking at him. so he in return subdued the sanke by pinning it with an emergency ore from one of the boats. no one would go up there in fear of their life. my grandpa was stuck up ther with my mom crying thinking that her dad would be bitten and die, for an hour. grandpa didnt want to jump in fear that the snake would go to and being a water snkae bite him in the water so my uncle dwight concouring his fears went up there and grabbed the snake by the tail and before it could bite throw it into the woods, then they jumped and swam to the boats extremely fast. well the unfourtounate side to the story is my mom to this day is petrified of snakes and i cant get one. but the funny thing was after investigative resarch this snake was a common water snake lol. i herp donw there like no other,to my moms fear of me getting bitten by a hot, i cought a 5 foot common water and a 3.5 foot cotton mouht. firmy held i showed my grandpa and asked which one was on top of the cliff, he picked the common water snake. of coures the immage of the snake was burned into his head after such an event. lol such fret over a harmless snake, and i made the family legend not so legendary....

It is unfortunate that people do not learn to identify the venomous snakes in their area. I would think...nevermind, it's easier to just kill every snake you see. I guess it's too bad most people are too uninterested to educate themselves.
