We found a snake in my mon and dads yard today. What kind is it?

black ratsnake, I agree. Farely friendly if you can get him in your hand. Eats birds, rodents....I caught one in my back yard in a nest of some sort of bird. There's alot of ratsnake species out there. That is a good find!!!! Nice picture too. If you ever see a jet black snake with a white belly around, don't try to pick it up. They call them black racers and they come with quite the attitude and will not hesitate to bite. Not poisonous, but still, it'll bite without a thought!

Haha, been there......just a little guy, got tagged twice, but he was rattling his tail and striking like crazy!! Still, it calmed down after a while....a long while......lol, i even managed to get a few good pics in too. |
