I for one am totally for it. If anything we will be better off with the bill than without it. Here is a quote out of the opposers of the bill:

" It will be costly and burdensome to develop such detailed information on the potentially hundreds of species sold by pet shops. This is an unwarranted requirement on a sector of the business community that is already subject to extensive mandates."

I am sorry, if they are keeping all those animals they should know how to care for them. They don't need to include breeding techniques and such, just basic care. I wish every state had this. The horror stories from Petco and such would definatly go dramaticly down. Heck, for once some more people at those stores (not all of them) will have a clue about what they are talking about.

i agree with NYC, basic care sheets can do nothing but good

lucky for me i got "The Corn Snake Manual" before i got my corn snakes and i found this site when i got my boas because the pet store that i got the corns from knows zip, zero, natta about snakes and if it wasn't for RTB.NET i would have drove the guy i got the boas from crazy with a million phone calls

BASIC CARE SHEETS would have saved me a lot of worries and a lot of guessing about how provide the proper care for these animals from the start

There are petstores that care about what they have and sell and there are some that only want to make money. Those that are in it only for the money have ruined things for those who actually care about the wellbeing of the animals. Because of this this new "BILL" is being voted upon. The only problem I see with it is that the stores that actually care and take time to talk to their customers will have to go one step further. The good thing about this "BILL" is places like petco will now have to gain a little knowledge on what they have. Now if only the senate would just come up with a bill with stricter guidlines as to the care of these animals while in the care of the petstores.

I for one find nothing wrong with the bill. If your going to sell an animal to someone take some D#@M responsibilty to inform your customer.

What are these shops complaining about????? "we wanna sell animals and make money, but we don't want to take the time to let you know how to keep it alive!!!!" why is this a big deal? what can you buy no days that does not come with instructions? not much. diddn't those digipets (remember those) come with instructions? and if they died, who cares, they're not living creatures! is it too much to ask of a petshop to give you care instructions! the complaints are B.S. -Juggalo
