My iggy is a evening feeder. I can feed him all day, but he just wont eat till about 5:00 pm. So........I just feed him every day when I get home from work, and he usually hops down to his bowel, (ok, its realy more of a controlled crashing fall, lol) and eats like a litte pig. Lately he just nibbles, then waits by the doors of his cage to get let out so he can crawl out to sleep on top of it. WHEW, that was a long sentence. So I have been putting his food next to him, and he stares at it like he absolutelly hates the shape of the bowel. I take a piece of the food out, and he acts like a baby bird seeing his mommy comming back with lunch, mouth all wide open like he is starving to death, EVEN THOUGH HE JUST LEFT HIS FOOD LIKE 10 SECONDS AGO!! I actually sit there and hand feed him (he's trained me well), then when I stop, he just sits there as if to say, "Well, if your not gonna feed me, I will just sit here and zzzzzzzzzzzzz." I start feeding him, and he is all chomping like a pig again! I figure it out, if the food is out of reach, and aparentally that is about 1/2 an inch, he looses intrest, so I just prop is food dish up, and kinda slide his head into it, and viola, he eats away. Funny thing is that when he finishes eating, he passes out like a college kid at a frat party sleeping with his head still in the food, lol. I never knew that iguans had such neet personalities till I had one. Just thought I would share that little story here, anyone els got a neat querky iggy story?? I'd love to hear it!

Our beardies have managed to train us too!
They will not eat mealies or wax worms unless they are hand fed.

lol, not more then usual. He is just spoiled. Today he ate real good. I guess it is just when I sit there and stair at him, he would rather me feed him, lol. Its ok, I dont mind a doing little pampering. He is a lucky Iggy to, cause the whole family treats him like a King.
