Iguana Abscess!
About 1wk ago my Iguana had an abscess suddenly appear on the lower left jaw. As far as I know he has had no injuries prior to the abscess. He's still eating and acting normal except for being a little jumpy. Could anyone look at the pic and try to help me determine what the cause may be.
Additional Information:
Male
3ft 1in
Unsure of age he was given to me 2 years ago.
Heat Source:
100 Watt Infrared.
60 Watt Ceramic Heat Bulb.
5.0 UVB Full Spectrum Bulb.
8 Watt Zoo Med Heat Pad.
Diet:
1 1/2 to 2 Cup(s) Of (Turnip,Mustard or Kale ) Greens Twice A Day.
Squash and or Red Bell Peppers & Different Fruits 3 Times A Week.

It's hard to say what that could be... the best thing you can do is find a qualified exotic vet and take your iguana there.

I agree with what Adrya said about taking him to a good herp vet. The abscess could be the result of his biting something that stuck him and it got infected, it should be examined if it does not go away, or gets bigger. He may need antibiotic treatment.
