I have always been under the impression that crickets are a great source of protine for Iggys and a very occassional pinky or hopper mouse is good.... I could very well be wrong, but thats what I have always recommended..

What are you currently feeding your Iggy? A propper diet of fresh vegetables and fruits will provide all the protien your iggy needs.
Here is some other info from another thread to keep in mind when talking about protien...
The iguanas digestive tract does not have any of the organism needed in order to digest any animal type proteins and if fed to them the food would just sit there rotting away is all. other health problems would also come to play from feeding such to the iggy.
Here is a bit of info from our RTB Caresheets.
FEEDING AND WATERING
The green iguana is strictly veggies and fruits. This may sound more simple opposed to feeding most other insectivorous lizards, but on the contrary. It is actually not as easy as it seems. Iguanas must be fed a wide variety of leafy greens, bulk veggies, and fruits. Leafy greens include things such as kale, collard greens, bok choy, endive, spinach, watercress, escarole, and many others. Most types of lettuce and cabbage are not good for them and contain very low nutritional value. Bulk veggies include, summer squash, carrots, and some others that are not usually found in stores (I am naming only examples that are usually easy to find.) Fruits include kiwi, bananas, grapes, strawberries, and pineapple are good examples of fruits. As far as the portions go, about 2/5 of the bowl should contain leafy greens, another 2/5 of shredded up bulk veggies, and 1/5 fruits. I also like to sprinkle "Iguana Diet"™ on the food for added nutrition. Make sure that all your food that you feed your iguana is pre-washed and free of chemicals. Also, iguanas should be fed about once a day, everyday.
The lettuce is ok but provides little nutrients. Add greens to your list when fixing it's food.

Constrictor BO is right on the nose. Animal protein should NEVER be offered to an iguana. Offer the fruits/veggies and make sure you have the iguana under a UVB light and mist daily to ensure good health.

Dragonfly???? Welcome to Igs101...The information that you have stated that you have always reccomended will result in renal failure to an IG and also premature death as a result of such being fed to an Iguana. HMM.... Make that DARK greens actually
As for sprinkling with Ig Diet... NOT neccessary if the Iguana is being fed a proper diet.
