Awww...he's coming into his own! From what I understand, male igs turn orange when they are sexually mature and ready to breed. They do go back to green after a while. Enjoy it while it lasts. I love an all orange ig!
One word of warning, LOL, he may be a bit more testy than usual due to the hormone rush.

YUP.. he's sexually mature now hehe. Make sure ya give him a "playtoy" hehe Can be a ragdoll or even a sock that is stuffed is all. Preferably green or even blue. AND YES he will be a bit more aggressive while in his "breed" also.
BTW.. NOT all Igs go back to their original coloring after the breed thing

Do you not like the orange? I think they are beautiful that way. I had a 6' ig a few years ago. He was bright orange and tenacious, LOL. He'd sit on the back of the couch with me, but if he was on the floor with my then husband, he'd whip his tail and smack him on the nose.
He was so cool:

This guy was about 5 yrs old when we got him, if I remember correctly. He was a lot more orange in person, too. I kinda miss the big trouble maker.....
Can you get some pics of yours? I'd like to see...

actually Lori, that looks just like what I am seeing only mine seems to be a lot more... practically his whole face is covered and every spike on his body is orange lol its strange, also shows how much pet shops know about things, I took him into the PetCo Mall of Ga, and they even called an expert all of which said they've never seen or heard of it.. LOL

Shady.. the pics were taken after he came out of his breed. While in it he was MUCH more of an orange/reddish coloring. This is what remained after the breed season and has ever since.
LOL ..Juls...Aww Why not ? Don't ya wanna deal with TONS of iggy eggs and all that crap ?? LMAO Better you than me on that ! I don't let the males anywhere near the females when in their breed here ! UGH

Hmmm.. My kids , the 5 year old even, could have told ya what was going on with the iG ..So much for their "experts"

Sarcasm..I hope {If not...we all need to give someobne a beating ya know..lol]
Shady.. Go to the worst IG site ol and take their info before ya even consider taking any further info from that place again.. Just a suggestion is all
Also.. While we're at it.. What's your husbandry like for the Ig ? Please say that you were NOT told to feed it criks by them people The one around here, no matter how much I keep trying to tell em, just doesn't get that this is NOT a lizard to feed criks to and that it is a herbivore [ per dietary needs and digestive abilities ] at that even...UGH.
