Red Iguana?
Every once in a while at Petco they have these "Red Iguanas" for sale. They are so beautiful and healthy looking too. They are bright orange and red with a little green on the face and feet. They are around $100, and the regular green iguanas are $20....what are Red Iguanas..a totally different Iguana or just a color phase? Not interested in getting one, but I was curious because I have never heard of or seen one before and they only have about 2 or 3 bigger ones at a time...every couple months.

Re: Red Iguana?
mi pretty sure they are just a color morph. wel, not really a morph, just from a different part of south america. the igs in venezuala have more red in them, so thats where those igs at petco may be from

Re: Red Iguana?
yup! Just like that. I was just very surprised that a Petco of all places would have something like that. I have never even heard of them till I saw them there. They are so nice...Is that one yours? Was it one you bought or was it a rescue?

Re: Red Iguana?
Actually that is a PetCo animal..I take my camera everywhere..lol This little guy was really interacting with me. I wish I would have been able to get him, but I just don't have room for another large ig cage yet.
They've been doing better at one of the local Petcos, have stopped carrying tiny igs, and tiny water dragons. They seem to be going for the young adults, or juvies. The water and cage were clean and the snakes I held were mite free (FOR ONCE)
Its nice to see healthy animals at a pet store for once.
This particular animal was 98 bucks..I was glad to see that too.. Suffice to say most people can't handle igs, and offering them for 20bucks is not wise.
