Albinos in the basking lights?
I was wondering since albinos are not supposed to be in the sun but how would you get them UV if they can't be in the light or is artificial lights much different.

this is a question I had when looking into snow tegus...the light will hurt their eyes and the supplements can easily be overdosed...do you have an albino?

No, I was just wondering about this. I know albinos are sensitive to sun so I was wondering if uv bulbs may hurt them. Just a question.

Breeding albino lizards and turtles and anything else that requires UV is about as cruel as it gets. That's pretty much all I have to say on the subject.

Fluorescent UV bulbs only put out a mere fraction of the UV that sunlight puts out, chances of them being harmful is probably pretty slim as long as the animal is provided with an appropriate hide area so it can get out of the light should it want to... but really, I'm with Julius.

thy don't put out enough uvb for the animal to thrive---yet any light at all (even uva) will hurt their eyes....I don't get why anyone would do that to an animal.

Because their dumb red necks!!! LoL J/k They just think about whats best for their wallets rather than the animals. It really upsets me but not everyone will agree.
