spiny tails hibernating

Hi everyone, there is a small colony of spiny tail iguanas living and thriving under an old farm house in Virginia. I guess because they dig burrows sometimes as much as 7 ft deep that they survive the cold va winters. It is amazing to me to see them pop out every year and sometimes you even see a couple juvy's cruising around. Any opinions?
