check out cyclura.com for photos of blues (like the one in my sig). If you have one more likely it's a cuban or brac cross--anything else would be illegal to own without some veryspecial paperwork because they are red listed.
How old is yours?
I would love to see some pics...I currently have 2 cyclura---one blue cross and one rhino

RE:Blue Rock Iguana Photos?
Nicole,
We have had ours since May. The Pet store said it was a Blue Rock Iguana when we got him He is just a little guy.
I will email you the only photos I have of him. He is currently rooming with a green iguana and they get along good. The green is much bigger than the blue.

He's cute..but it's hard to see his color in this photo. It's a bit bright
All Blue Rock Iguanas that are sold are sold as Blue Rock Iguanas. They cross them to make them legal. Most pet stores have no clue what they are selling so try not to rely too much on what any of them tell you.
Legally, if they say Blue Rock Iguana ---they can still be--and 99.9% of the time are---crossed. A good rule of thumb: Unless he is bright powder blue he is crossed---otherwise he is illegal. To buy an illegal Blue would cost ALOT of money---a cross is about $300 or less depending on the source and the lineage.
Bear in mind also that some crosses resemble cyclura lewisi so much that it takes DNA testing to tell them apart. But these are blues from prime parents who are bred for color. You would know immediately.
But basically, unless you went underground and paid out the nose and were told to tell no one---LOL---it's a cross.
I have a cross myself. They ROCK. The nubilia lewisi crosses are smaller then the green igs or the rhinos as babies...what is the sex of your green and your blue? Opposite sex iguanas get along better in the end---and an imature green male might turn nasty overnight so be careful. In my experience the blues seem to be shyer as babies---but it is possible for them to cohabitate if the planets line up right. He will get large as he matures and this takes about 4 or 5 years. A green ig will mature in about 1.5 years. So the size difference and the hormones might create a bad environment for a while---just be mindful and observant as time passes. The first sign of trouble seperate them.
Do you know where the parents of this lizard came from (which breeder?)?

He is for the most part a turquoise blue, except when he is shedding, which he is doing right now, then he is a gray color. In his photo the light parts are turquoise blue and the dark spots are a gray color. His tail is not smooth like the greens are, but more in sections at the base then smooth. The pet store is trying to find out who his parents are for me and possibly when he was hatched.
He doesn't like to eat anything but crickets, due in part to the pet store feeding them to the whole lot that were in the cage, we do keep kale and lizard bites in there all thetime in hopes that he will start to eat them. The green eats the kale and the lizard bites along with the crickets.I will try to get a better photo of both him and George (my green) later this evening.

Try not feeding any insects or pinks at all. Animal protien is very very bad. It will cause problems like you would not believe. I found all this out from experts in the field of cyclura---trust me here.
Try greens--dandelion, a little bok choy, collards, kale, mustard greens---the potential for greens is limitless. Certain flowers---some pellets even (the breeding facility in Grand Cayman where the blue igs come from use zoomed juvie pellets for iguanas as a supplement).Given his age you can buy baby foods---fruits, veggies...anything but meats.
In the wild cyclura basically eat plants, flowers andfruits. Their bodies are not used to digesting animal protien. They will eat it readily but it is so bad for them they end up dying very young.
I have had breeders and some online people tell me differently---and I decided to go to the top with my questions---to Fred Burton who runs the headstart facility and to John Binns who is owner of cyclura .com, the founder of the IRCF and the director of the IIS.
What you can do if your interested in reading about them--is become a member of the IIS and get IGUANA magazine. It really is the best publication I have ever read...and a great source of info for any cyclura owner.
Try to find out the breeder in th meantime.
FYI: The oldest blue cyclura in captivity died recently at a zoo in the states. He was born in 1935!
