Neat. Man I wish I could take one (bleep) trip and go to those islands and see and photograph some of those. Some of those numbers are so depressing.

Those numbers are depressing. However, it does not really say what is causing them to fade away nor does it say what is being done to reverse the trend.
Perhaps that was not the nature of that website. Anyway, good info!

It would be great to go to where they are native and see them. Me, for a while at least, I'll have to just see them on Animal Planet and Dicovery channel.

Probably whats causing it is humans. Deforestation, collecting/hunting, and development.
Whats being done, probably nothing. A few research groups or studies, maybe. Hopefully I'm wrong, but with a number like 150 left, there is not much you could do and have a healthy gene pool. But there is always hope.

actually there is alot being done and I have been sent an ivitation to be a part of it. I only with this summer I wasn't moving. Here is some info:
Grand Cayman iguana
(cyclura nubila lewisi)
Estimated population remaining in the wild: 30
A close relative of the Cuban iguana, the Grand Cayman Iguana is native to Grand Cayman. Populations have declined precipitously in recent times, with fewer than 30 individuals remaining on Grand Cayman. Threats include habitat destruction due to road construction and rapid development for tourists, predation by dogs and cats, disturbance of coastal nesting areas, and road kills. Large and highly sexually dimorphic, body length in males to 22.5 in (515 mm).
Distribution: Grand Cayman Island
Size: Males to 515mm SVL Females to 410mm SVL
Status: I.U.C.N. Red List - Critically Endangered
Legal Status: U.S. Endangered Species Act - Threatened C.I.T.E.S. - Appendix I
Priority Activities: Captive breeding projects have been quite successful recently on Grand Cayman. The Cayman National Trust has established two reserves on the island into which captive produced animals will be released. The present concern is to be certain that all animals destined to be released are purebred lewisi. There is now DNA evidence that some of the captive stock has been inadvertently mixed with caymanensis.
Number Remaining: Estimated at 30 (several dozen additional captive animals).
I was asked to be a part of this program from July 31st through august 13th.
I am very bummed about moving during this time--this would have been a dream come true for me.

If I'm not mistaken, CHS has either purchased, or is in on the purchase of a good amount of acrage on Grand Cayman to preserve nesting sites.
I Wanna go too.

They do some crazy things on that show. I wouldn't be suprised if Steve-o's butt is immune to scorpians, as many times as he has let them sting him.
