I just got the word today that my muffler needs to be replaced. The pipe that goes into it has nearly rusted off where it attached. I asked my mechanic if it could just be fixed with duct tape. He just glared at me.
Seriously, why couldn't that be fixed with duct tape? I guess I need to find a good redneck mechanic.

There is actually some adhesive tape at the auto parts store that will "temporarily" patch it.
