Re: For the Walmart Shoppers
My brother-in-law just told me about that site this past weekend.
While obviously entertaining, Walmart can be such a superfail. I regret just about every time I go into one out of convenience, and swear I'll never return, but eventually I always get sucked back in somehow. Ugh.

Re: For the Walmart Shoppers
Our Wally-World is a certified Leper Colony. The craziest part of it is I don't see these "interesting" folks anywhere else in our community. But a trip to the Mart will reveal all sorts of fascinating wardrobe, Body mod, and other choices that you just can't find anywhere else in the area.

Chicago is windy and polluted....so I hear.
I love Walmart with either an overwhelming repressed passion or a feeling of quiet desperation and deep, poignant longing, but unfortunately, there are none in Jamaica, West Indies, where I live, either. (And Jamaica is often windy and polluted too.)
Go figure.

90% of Americans live within 15 minutes of a walmart.... I want to be in the other 10%.

Re: For the Walmart Shoppers
the link dont work for me. i grocery shop at walmart since i have moved to columbus. they have no kroger or meijers. no good grocery stores at all. i went to 'piggly wiggly' and some of the bread and stuff had mice/rat holes chewed in the packages. i got out of there quick. i hate columbus.

Horrible employer record, everything in this "Great American Superstore" is made in China, they shut down local businesses, and not much of the money they make stays within the communities.
At least that's why I hate them.

^Our Wally-World in Farmington isn't quite a Leper Colony but other then that you pretty much got it spot on. As you pointed out also their really aren't to many other choices, especially since they built the "Super Wally-World" all the other Mom-Pop places that I supported are all closed now. And for you "City Folk" its not just a shopping trip for us in "Smalltown USA" its an adventure! I mean hate it or love it-I just laugh sadly-where else can you go get your Booze/Drugs/Food/Cloths/Auto/Hunting/Fishing/Pet Supplies PLUS Entertainment all in one exciting city trip stop.

Re: For the Walmart Shoppers
I went to Walmart in Scarborough, Ontario last July. I am still wearing the sneakers I bought there and I wear them every day...they now have holes in their soles. (So do I for supporting Walmart.)
They are made in China...I know, but they were affordable and that's why I bought them. I understand about the hugeness and greed and the beating down and destroying of smaller local enterprises, though. We are getting a lot of that here in Jamaica lately, especially with the big Spanish Hotels which offer cheaper rates and pollute our beaches and reefs, and take the business from the small local hotels, some of which are now closing down.

You live and learn, as I always say. Walmart, you have one less customer, and I am a little wiser today.
