Exercise for the mature
EXERCISE FOR THE MATURE
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5 lb. potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.
Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10 lb. potato sacks. Then try 50 lb. potato sacks and then eventually, try to get to where you can lift a 100 lb. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

Sorry, I chuckled out loud when I read this. I have a policy here that if something makes me laugh out loud, I have to post it on RTB.

Re: Exercise for the mature
I'd hate to say it, but this is something I'd probably do lol. I once heard a comic say, "I've been working out over the past few weeks. People always say to take it slow when you first start out, so you don't strain your muscles. So far, I haven't done anything! I couldn't feel better!"

I lift 12 oz. weights, and the great thing is that every time I lift them they get lighter.

Re: Exercise for the mature
BTW, when this thread gets hijacked (and it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when'), we should maybe have an indepth discussion about potatoes or their packaging, so we loosely stick to topic. lol

I don't know, Dave, but a mature person such as yourself should probably check it out. LOL

Re: Exercise for the mature
[QUOTE=DaveDragon;679252]So what is the weight difference between a 5lb. potato sack and a 100 lb. potato sack??
The five pound potato sack can hold five pounds of potatos, and the 100 pound potato sack can hold 100 pounds of potatos. The 100 pound potato sack weighs what 20 of the five pound sacks weighs.
There! That was my mature mental exercise for the day, thank you very much.
Did I spell "potatos" correctly???

I think we were referring to the empty weight of the sacks. The "mature" person doesn't need to prove their strength by actually having potatoes in the sacks.
"potatoes" is the correct spelling.
