Okay guys. For those who are less fortunate with building things. I decided on the cage I'm building at the moment to make a tutorial.

Sorry ive been working alot so i havent had a chance to get on lately..what i meant about the flush mounts against the MDF...is this...the flush mount vents are as thick as the mdf..and they are rectangular shape..so just make a cut out of the vent and liquid nail it into the hole you cut out and it will be a built in vent thats built into the tank. ill get a pic of the vent so you can see what im talking about.

I found some pics what they look like installed in the hardwood floors...there flush mount so there smooth across with the floor. ...same idea as how they go into the floor...just not all the planks of wood that surround it...just make a cut out for the vent to sit inside of...the vents bottom is wood also...the metal part that opens and closes is in between the inside so the snake wouldnt be able to come in contact with the metal..just the wood.which of course wont do any harm. does this make sense now or no?

Yeah it makes sense. But why do you want the vents on the bottom? Its best to have vents on the sides centered. So then you keep your heat and humidity levels perfect.

How did you make the panel on the front of the cage able to control all of the lights?.... any pictures?

How thick is the wood you used?

How did you install the lights into the cage?

Julian - for the switch on the front. Its a wireless remote that has the sensor plugged into an outlet in your wall. From the outlet it lets you control only one light, but with an extension cord, now I can control 2. The more sensors you have, you can program them into your switch in order to fluctuate them separately.

The MDF I used is 1/2"

I used porcelain light fixtures. If you try to mount the porcelain part onto the wood, it wont be level due to the screws under it. So I took some metal and shaped a circle with it making the fixture elevate off the surface so the screws don't touch the surface. Then you wire up the fixture, screw it on. Drill a small hole in the side of the cage to thread your wires through. And thats it.

I drilled a small hole in my cage, and put my uth on a piece of plexiglass w/the little legs that came with it. All in all though i like the heat cables that come with the rack systems combined with ceramic heat emitters.
