i realize this post is old but here goes.... when i shipped my boa on alaska airlines it went on the plane at around 8am and was in ancorage approx 7 hours later.... we used no heat packs and she was just fine.... I was informed by a local breeder that for short trips most boas are fine with little or no heat, but for pythons and certain other snakes a heat pack would be a good idea

Not just old, but SUPER OLD.

As for not needing heat, that would depend on where you are shipping from. I wouldn't dare put a snake on a plane out of SLC. I am at the airport often for work and they were telling the people with dogs that the pet cabin is around 20 degrees. Of course summer is a different issue, just didn't want anyone thinking they are ALWAYS fine with no heat.
