How do you guys heat your tanks?

My heat has and always will be fine, but it's really goofy to me, and always has been with the exception of the time I had the fish tank to keep my burmese in.

I am just curious what you guys use for heating and substrate... and how large your tanks are to take that into consideration.

I've got a 55 gal that I heat with a CHE. It does the trick just fine. I've got a 40 gal that I heat with a UTH and a CHE, and that works fine. I'll be using a CHE and UTH tomorrow for a 30 gal, and in about a month I start building custom cages that I'll heat with heat pads.

UTH and CHE? Sorry, I may be an idiot because I don't know what that stands for.

Ah, which is what I use, but for some reason feels really goofy to me. ...oh well. It might be the cage itself. Do you guys condone the human heat packs? I'd think they would make more sense since the "UTH" (I'm pro) only really has two settings - on and off.

i think i am the only one who has been able to keep perfect heat and humidity in both my tanks with only UTH's lol. thats all i use for both my blood and my ball and the hot side never goes over 93 degrees in my balls tank and my bloods uth never goes over 91 on the hot side. and it doesn't effect humidity at all

I use CHE's in my larger tanks with pulse stats, I can't use UTH's in these as they are landscaped with fibreglass. I do use UTH on the back walls of my aquarium that houses my emerald and they maintain a good temperature and gradient, these are controlled with a pulse stat as well.

Cheers
Nexus
