Sliding Screen Tops (help)
My dad and I were talking about makeing a new cage for his 2 full grown Corn Snakes. He told me that he wanted to make them at least a 4 - 5' long cage and maby 3' tall. I was browsing and pondering for the past week on how and ware the opening was going to be.
We are sort of limited on tools but after beating my head aginst the computer, trying to find a way to make the opening, I looked at the current 2'x2'x2' cage that they are in now and thought... " He would do fine if he had a sliding screen top."
Can someone help me find the parts to make the sliding screen lids that glass cages have on them or a way to make something like it?

make a frame out of wood whatever size the cage is and staple some screen into the top of the wood, i have made 4 of these and they work good. or try to build a cage that is the size of a larger aquarium and then try to find one, good luck!#~

Thank you for the tip
But how would I make it a sliding lid? Or is that a hinged lid that lifts up?
I think I can picture what you are talking about.
Thanks

I have a bearded dragon so this may not work with you since your tank will be bigger. But I had a screen top that I bought from the store for my old 40 gallon tank, it was the one with the hinges in the middle so even with the light on top you can open the tank. Well when I got my 75 gallon tank I realized I didnt have a lid lol. All I did is put the lid from the 40 gallon on the top of the 75 gallon. I had to cut the back lip off so it fits flatly on the cage. The long light I have on top covers the gap so it fits perfectly. This is hard to explain so if you think this would work for you just let me know and I can get pics.
