The Pelican Resurrection (New use for Tileboard)

I've had these old Pelican 1550 cases laying around for awhile, unable to use them because the pick and pluck foam that came with them both got in pretty bad shape. I hate that stuff anyway. Pelican sells some padded dividers but they are quite pricey...anyway just thought I'd share my idea here. I used that same tileboard (shower surround) stuff I've been making cages out of and cut 2 1/2 inch strips and then cut those as needed. I covered each piece with...I dunno what it's called. I call it fuzzy rug. I use it for various photography jobs and have tons of the stuff. It works great. both cases already had bottom, top and side foam left that was still good so all I really needed was dividers to keep stuff from banging against each other.

I made the other case using the same stuff into a laptop / GPS case for herping trips. These cases are water tight and if you do any boating, you can even count them as a flotation device...equipment and all.
