The top pic is a Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica) egg mass. Wood frog eggs are fairly firm when first laid but quickly dissolve within a week or two (depending on temperature) as the larvae quickly develop.
The lower pic has two Spotted Salamander (Ambystoma maculatum) egg masses. Unlike wood frogs, spotted salamanders attach their egg masses to underwater objects, normally sticks or other vegetation.
