Smart turtles...

This turtle's diet consists of plant matter, fungus and invertebrates. Members of one population have been seen stomping on the ground with thier front feet to attract worms to the surface. Can you name this turtle?

Sounds like a box turtle.
But there are lots of "smart" turtles

I don't think it's a box turtle. The book I was reading qouted this is the only species that does it. Although turtles aren't my fortae.

Everyone done? The book that I have qoutes Wood turtles (Clemmys insculpta) to be the only turtle that stomps the ground mimicing rain fall. When worms sense this vibration they squirm towards the surface, so not to drown. This is when the wood turtle gets to graze!
