I.D. this snake
let me start off saying this. IM in houston texas i live right across the street from a huge lake and reall close to a water drainage ditch. I had my snake hook today and i fliped some siding laying next to the house and found this. its about 7inches long really bitey. I took these pics and put em' back. its mouth was white on the inside too. any ideas?

First, it is NOT a northern water snake... you live in the south, in TEXAS.
Two, definitely NOT a water moccasin.
I'm guessing it's a baby racer of some kind, or a different species of water snake, but that's a wild guess.

thats what i thought when i first caught it but then changed my mind. its tounge was bright pink and mouth was paper white if that helps any. like i said it was extremely aggressive

I went and looked at a few examples of Cottonmouths both old and young. Cottonmouths seem to be banded(as neonates and juveniles), and this seems to be more checkered. What made me think cottonmouth was your quote commenting on aggressive nature, near water, and white mouth. So since it is not a Cottonmouth, I have no idea.
