Snake ID?
This small, 229mm (9 inch) is native to most of the eastern U.S.
The snake is very gravid, how many eggs should be expected?

At first glace i thought it was a Northern Brown Snake(Storeria dekayi), but they don't lay egges, their live birthers.
If its not that, not sure.

I thought Smooth Earth Snake (Virginia valeriae valariae) but they are live bearers, not egg layers.

It is indeed a Smooth Earth Snake (Virginia valeriae valariae) and you're right they are viviparous.

Yeah...I guess that technically, they are still born in egg sacks. The eggs are just retained or I've heard that arguement before.
