As Promised...Anatomical view of a dissected boa

This is a juvenile female colombian boa that I took in on rescue last year. She was bought by a teenage girl on impulse and her Dad would not let her bring her inside the house so she attempted to keep the snake in a rubbermaid tote inside her car in an unheated garage. By the time I got her she had a horrible RI. I did all I could but she died anyway. Anyway, that is the story on the snake. Maybe her death will help to educate others.

Very cool, I was just looking for more information on the anatomy of snakes in general. It would be cool if we could develop a virtual dissection, like the one at www.froguts.com.

Jules, an excellent job of dissection, impressive. And by the looks of it, all the right tools on hand as well.

I stickied this post, a spectacular job. While sad that the animal died, at least it can be used to further everyone's knowledge.

wow glad you guys like it. yah I don't mind people using them for education. I need to correct a typo...I spelled sheath wrong. I was in a hurry trying to get done before Megan got here LOL and get the mess off my kitchen table...I was going to do the brain and inside of mouth...try and show how the tongue/ glottis works....maybe later.
