Re: florida fun
Congrats on seeing the bison on the prairie! I didn't get a chance to see them there while I was in G'ville. But my aunt has some on her farm in Williston so that kinda counts...
the pic with the gator was that Alachua Sink or somewhere else?

Re: florida fun
Go to La Chua trail (Boulware Springs), that's where the sink is and you'll see a ton of them!
Directions
This is how most people get there, I go down 13th St to Williston Rd and make a left (towards Waldo). Then make a right at 4th St (there's a Kangaroo gas station there) and then a left on 15th. You can either park at Boulware Springs/G'ville-Hawthorn trail head or continue straight to the La Chua trailhead. When the road curves sharply to the left keep going straight and you'll go through a gate (on weekends the gate is closed, but I've not had any problems just parking on the grass there) and eventually come to a parking lot.

Re: florida fun
oh wow so many diff animals! haha, nice shots dude. Btw. never knew the name of the southern ringneck snake, but maybe not so southern cause i've found a few of them (only like a handful though compared to the hundreds of thousands of garters, lol) wayyy up her in Staten Island in NYC. i remember the first time i saw it i was real little and thought it was poisonous or something.
awesome finds! lovin the alligator pics. haha

That's where I usually go, it's $8 a car to get into the south entrance by the lake off 441 and I don't usually ever keep cash
La Chua was closed for a while (I'm 99% sure it's open now), they were building a wooden walkway from where the older "new" walkway was to under the old train tracks overpass. I tried to walk out there and it was blocked off, so I went out to the pier that's randomly off 441 and it was dry and there were no gators :/

Re: florida fun
Yea I never wanted to pay to visit the park when I could for free. I also go to Bolen's Bluff and usually see the horses there and after heavy rains a TON of cottons!
ShaolinKid - The ringnecked snake has a huge distribution: Florida to southeastern Canada and west to Texas and Iowa.

Re: florida fun
Lovely wildlife and pictures, thanks for sharing.
I may visit Florida later this month or next month but it will be South Florida. I will be sure to annoy y'all with some lame pictures as usual. But my daughter lives right near the water...so...hopefully!
