Going to Africa...

So, my mom and I will be going to Africa this July for a couple weeks. The first week, we'll be in Tanzania helping build a school for orphans, but the second week we get to goof off. We'll be in Moshi, which is right next to Mt. Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Park. I'm trying to convince my mom to go on a safari for at least a couple of days.

Now, what I REALLY want to do is go out exploring and looking for native wildlife. I know there are a lot of dangerous creatures, much more than I'm used to up here in the lil ol' mitten. What I was wondering was, does anybody have any advice as to what to take? I want to explore, but I want to be SAFE about it, and if anybody has any tips/tricks, that'd be mucho appreciated.

If this is your first trip to Africa, prepare to have your life changed. A most magnificent experience.

Bug spray? Never been to africa...but i would figure. Don't you have to get some sort of immunization shots to go to Africa? In the stomach or some such? I could be thinking of somewhere else, but I could have sworn it was Africa that you had to do the shots for. Either way...have a safe trip

You will need to get shots all right. Malaria, bilharzia, quashiorkor, yellow fever, tetanus, dengue fever...to name a few.

LOL! Not sure what you will need but sure you will need some shots. I would take any amount to be able to go to Africa!!!

Ekke, where are you? I know you are in South Africa.

Yeah, got the shots all covered.. (I HATE needles...) I meant as far as herping supplies lol.
